A Board Member

Here are a few highlights of Dr. Breaux's first term as a board member.

  • Approved the highest raise for teachers and staff in Alief history.

  • Served as an educational expert resource for several state senators and representatives during the legislative sessions.

  • Provided witness testimony before the Senate Committee on Education.

  • Taken over 184 hours of school board training. 

  • Focused on early literacy with the approval of 3 early childhood centers and expansion of other stand alone early childhood programs throughout the district.

  • Supported the opening of the Mandarin Chinese immersion program.

  • Supported  board members in data discussions which led to data-informed decision making.

  • Represented Alief ISD at the TASB Delegate Assembly (2 years). 

  • Represented Alief ISD in Washington DC at the TASB Advocacy Institute.

  • Served as chair of the Alief ISD Policy Committee (3 years).

  • Named school board member of the year 2020 and 2021.
